Delete your account

You can delete your AleaMeep account directly from the mobile app at any time. This page explains the steps, what data is removed, and what is retained.

How to delete your account

  1. Open the AleaMeep app on iOS or Android and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Scroll to the Danger zone section.
  4. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. If you cannot access the app for any reason, email support@aleameep.com from the address on your account and we will process the deletion for you within 30 days.

What is deleted

When you delete your account, the following are permanently removed from AleaMeep:

  • Your profile (display name, bio, avatar, location, preferences)
  • Your authentication record (email, password hash)
  • Your private messages and crew chat history authored by you
  • Your reactions, RSVPs, follows, and connections
  • Your game logs, badges, and activity history
  • Your push notification tokens and device identifiers
  • Your draft posts, events, and store claims in progress

What is retained

A small amount of information may be retained for legal, safety, or operational reasons:

  • Public events you hostedmay be anonymized (your name replaced with "Former host") and retained so attendees and the community keep an accurate record of past gatherings.
  • Purchase and subscription records (transaction IDs, dates, amounts) are retained for up to 7 years to comply with tax and accounting requirements. Payment card details are never stored by AleaMeep — Apple and Google handle billing.
  • Moderation and safety records (reports filed against the account, enforcement actions, ban records) are retained for up to 2 years to protect the community from repeat-offense and ban-evasion abuse.
  • Aggregated, de-identified analytics (e.g., total events attended in a city) may persist indefinitely because they cannot be traced back to you.

Subscriptions and refunds

Deleting your AleaMeep account does not automatically cancel any active subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by AleaMeep, so you must cancel them in the App Store or Google Play subscription settings before deleting your account if you want to stop future charges. AleaMeep cannot issue refunds — those are handled directly by Apple or Google under their respective refund policies.

If the in-app delete option does not work, you have lost access to the email on your account, or you need help with a related privacy request (data export, partial deletion, correction), email support@aleameep.com. Replies typically arrive within 1-2 business days.
